The incentive for these shooters to commit tragedies such as the Colorado and elementary school shootings is to cause mass panic and gain personal attention. By giving these events national attention we are giving these psychopaths exactly what they want and showing others that by doing this they can too cause panic and gain fame. In order to prevent them we must ignore them regardless of how hard and insensitive it seems.
