end insider trading for members of Congress, who profit from passing or not passing certain laws.

Created by B.B. on November 13, 2011

Steve Kroft of 60 Minutes did a story about how Congress amasses their wealth by insider trading, something that is illegal for anyone except them. One instance cited was John Boehner buying health care stock when the Affordable Healthcare Act was being introduced in to Congress for vote. Conflict of interest. Stop insider trading for Congress so that we will have Congresspeople working for us, not their own interests. Dennis Hastert was mentioned as having bought a very large parcel of land in Illinois and then making $2 million off the sale. This should be brought up along with campaign contributions. It's fine to make money but not at the expense of the very people they have sworn to represent. This story aired today, Nov. 13.
