We the people ask the federal government to Change an existing Administration policy:

End The International Border Search Exception

Created by G.C. on July 26, 2016

WHEREAS, The United States Customs and Border Protection Agency, as well as similar agencies under the Department of Homeland Security, have greatly expanded authority to search, interrogate, and detain individuals who enter any Port of Entry zone.

WHEREAS, the aforementioned authority has frequently been abused, misused, and otherwise misconstrued in order to target innocent individuals. Complaints against the abusers are commonly ignored. The law has been implemented in ways that violate the US Constitution.

THEREFORE, We the People demand an end this expanded authority. We demand that the power of US Customs agents be limited only to that of peace officers, thus restoring the right to privacy, due process, and protection against self-incrimination at international entry points
