Repeal the Lautenberg Amendment for the following reasons....
The Lautenberg Amendment also known as the domestic violence offender gun ban, permanently bars those convicted of even misdemeanor domestic violence from ownership/possession of firearms and/or ammunition.
It is our view that if the circumstances surrounding someone's domestic violence conviction do not warrant a felony conviction; they do not warrant permanently losing a Constitutionally guaranteed right.
In addition... the burden of proof for a misdemeanor conviction is not the same as the burden of proof for a felony conviction.
It is time to end the Lautenberg amendment.
