Muammar al-Qaddafi created numerous benefit programs for the poor, gave Libyans universal healthcare, free electricity, and distributed oil profits to the people of Libya. Qaddafi increased Libya's literacy rate from under 1/5 of the country to over 80%. Libya under Qaddafi had the highest standard of living in Africa (above Saudi Arabia, Russia, and Brazil as well), the lowest infant mortality rate in Africa, and the highest per capita income in Africa. In early 2011 a NATO intervention began and western countries aided a rebel minority in displacing Qaddafi's government. Early, during the intervention, approximately 80% of Libyans gathered in Tripoli to show support for Qaddafi. Several cities are bombed only for supporting Qaddafi. End this crime and support the true leader of Libya.
