End the lifetime salaries for Senators, Congressmen and Presidents.

Currently Senators, Congressment and Presidents receive their full annual salary for life regardless of how long they serve in their position. In addition, they have a separate retirement program which guarantees them additional income after a certain age. This is simply unfair. There is no reason why these individuals need to receive these salaries. They should be subject to the same kind of employment as the rest of the country. You get paid while you are working in that job but once you leave that job, you should not continue to get paid. It is a basic principle of economics. We should also combine their retirement program with Social Security and then maybe they will work harder to safeguard it for all of us!
