There was a time when people stayed home on Thanksgiving. There would be backyard football games, cousins chasing each other around the house, and the scent of turkey with all the fixin's filled the house.
Now people camp out days in advance to get a good deal and plan on having their dinner while waiting in line. All for what? To save a few bucks? To help the CEO of Best Buy and Wal-Mart afford another vacation home? The same CEOs that are mandating workers, most of them being paid minimum wage, to leave their families to work on Thanksgiving. Honestly can't the sale wait an extra 24 hours?
President Obama: Please help restore the holidays to their former glory. Let's take back the holidays and give it back to the people and their families.
