If the United States is serious about the security of Israel and itself, and the promotion of democracy, we have to take concrete and measured steps to ensure both.
The more Palestinian homes are destroyed and youth arrested, the more anger and resentment grows. As settlements expand, there is a decrease in the economic opportunities for Palestinians. The US is complicit in the increase of conflict through our military aid to Israel, and we must also recognize (since the Israelis do not seem willing to) that there is no military solution to this conflict.
We must send a message that we will no longer support and pay for the expansion and protection of settlements in the occupied territories. Please suspend military aid to Israel, until major settlements start to come down.
