Presently, there are numerous ways the government could cut military spending without having an effect on servicemembers or military readiness. Unnecessary contracts have been made with numerous companies outlining ridiculous requirements for repair of parts (i.e. circuit cards being required to be fixed by the company vice trained operators, and the company charges full price for the same card returned with questionable quality) or low-quality/high-priced supplies (low-quality toilet paper, extremely expensive duct-tape, et cetera). The military is forced to spend an extensive amount of money on numerous supplies and systems that are unnecessary for the sake of porkbarrel spending, when this money needs be spent on important supplies that could save lives or even other budgets.
