The Inspector General reported that 307,000 veterans died before their applications for assistance were processed. Also, 800,000 stalled reports slowed down access and possibly 10,000 records were deleted. It took the VA over three years to send me a copy of my Viet Nam medical records that they admitted were in their possession. I had an appointment at the VA hospital in Palo Alto California on October 19, for a painful knee and was prescribed physical therapy. I was called 11 days later on October 30, and told my physical therapy appointment was January 29, 2016. I called the Veterans Choice program to get care faster and was told they could not help until the VA reported to them that timely care was denied. Both you and Congress have said you intend to fix the VA. We're still waiting.
