End Mountaintop Removal Coal Mining

Sign this petition to make your voice heard on the issue of mountaintop removal coal mining. Called MTR for short, it is a very radical and environmentally destructive form of coal mining that is destroying one of the oldest and most beautiful mountain ranges in the United States. Unfortunately, coal is still very much needed in our society, as it powers 39% of the U.S. power grid. However, there are other methods of mining coal that are far less destructive to the environment. If irreparable damage to the Appalachian mountains doesn't bother you, consider public health.
