End National Security Clearances for Former Officials.

When citizens enter public service, some in key positions (e.g. President, Vice President) have their assets moved into a blind trust. This is meant to ensure decisions made on the behalf of the country are not based on personal gain. However, when government officials and key staff leave office, they maintain their clearance status. This creates a significant ethical issue when these same officials and employees move into or return to the private sector. National security clearance allows these individuals to unfairly benefit from and manipulate this access in relation to their business planning, profiteering, and lobbying. There is no need for a private citizen to maintain their national security clearance after they have left public service.
