End the national Welfare program so that each State may run its own, more efficient program.

This petition addresses the extremely deficient and wasteful nation Welfare program. This program is another example of how the federal government's "once size fits all" approach does not work, just like in education. If the federal program were to be eliminated and all operations under the state governments, the programs could be run much more locally, and therefore meet the needs of the impoverished much more effectively. As a plus, it will help Washington's spending epidemic. Many states have balanced budget requirements, and will be able to manage the programs without going into debt.
