For 8 mouths out of the year we use what is called, DST (Daylight Savings Time). And during the late fall, just before winter we roll out clocks back.
Originally this was thought to save energy, but after several decades it has proven there is no energy savings and in fact recent studies suggest exact opposite, costing America more fuel and energy.
There is also a few preliminary studies to suggest the sudden forced change in sleep habits caused by DST (daylight savings time), causes a health risk, especially in the elderly. The level of stroke and heart attacks seem to take a minor spike during this time.
In fact there is currently no solid evidence for the need or benefit for keeping this practice.
We use 'summer time hours' 8 months out of the year. Lets keep it that way.
