Civil Forfeiture is being used by Federal, State and Local law enforcement to take funds and property from people who are innocent of any crime or wrongdoing based on suspicions or faulty evidence, or no evidence at all aside from some persons feeling or hunch or political/personal motivations.
Please either define more clearly how this process can be used (or not used) or abolish it altogether. Folks should not have to fight for what is rightfully theirs.
The constitution does state that a person is innocent until proven guilty, so no one should be deprived of the use of resources owned personally by them to defend themselves. against the departments or agencies that are supposed to protect them.
