Federal employees, their families and friends urge Congress to end the 3 year pay freeze. Over the next decade we'll contribute more than $114B towards the deficit. No other group is asked to do more. Reducing COLA's are commonplace since President Reagan took office. Employees share of insurance premiums increase, while net pay decreases. Pay checks are less in January than the prior month. We have sacrificed enough. According to a new study, in 2013 the gap between federal and private-sector pay continues to widen. Typical federal employees now earn 35.4% less than their private sector peers. Beneficiaries and federal retirees received COLA's, yet employees continue to suffer. We are working families struggling more and more to put food on the table, not an ATM. End the pay freeze now.
