We the people ask the federal government to Take or explain a position on an issue or policy:

End the Pentagon's demand for repayment of California National Guard bonuses and refund all repayments made to date.

Created by P.S. on October 25, 2016

Bonuses were offered to Nat'l Guard soldiers for re-enlistment. Many accepted the offer and served their time bravely, as agreed. For some reason, the Pentagon is demanding repayment of the bonuses, and repayment has already begun. This is a breach of contract, and is an outrage to every American. These brave soldiers cannot afford such a demand, and they should not be forced to feel as if they've done anything wrong. The Commander-in-Chief should be able to Order the Pentagon to stop these demands immediately, and the President of the United States should be able to persuade Congress to pass whatever emergency legislation is required to correct this mistake. All repayments made must be refunded with interest. Secretary Ash Carter has promised a solution. We demand the above action.
