There is overwhelming evidence that abstinence-only education is an ineffectual means of HIV/AIDS transmission. Since this is the principle aim of PEPFAR (President's Emergency Plan For AIDS Relief), billions of dollars have been wasted on policies which has proven to fail time and time again. While it's impossible to calculate the toll on human lives which might have been saved had the funding gone towards more scientifically proven means, we can prevent the continued failings. Furthermore, there is evidence a number of faith-based organizations have violated the mission they've been entrusted with, lacking transparency, proselytizing, and promoting discriminatory ideology to name but a few such concerns. HIV/AIDS prevention needs fund real solutions and not false profits (prophets).
