There's two parts to this petition.
1. End pet shelter practice of euthanasia. Such practice should only be used on animals that are terminally ill. The practice of putting them down because they're homeless is not right. That's not fair to them.
2. Allowing a Federal Tax Exemption for the care and expenses of pets. Pets should be allowed to be added as tax exempts on tax returns. Taxpayers give them shelter, food, water, bathe them & even clothes them. That cost money. So why not? Of course there should be regulations to prevent fraudulent tax claims. A limit on the number of certain animals, the length the animal has been under your care and proof of it should do.
