The petitions section here at the whitehouse's website is completely obsolete. Not only has the administration thrice raised the minimum petition threshold, it has basically ignored or failed to act upon virtually all requests that meet the requirements they themselves set. Therefor, this website and the notion that our collective voices will be heard and heeded to has been, time and again, proven to be nothing more than a RUSE.
It is important that participating members of a "democracy" be made to feel as though they are relevant, even if they are not. In this respect, petitions has been as disaster. Unless the Whitehouse is trying to submit the America public to a state of learned helplessness, this campaign has completely failed. Stop charging US taxpayers for this indulgent charade.
