We need to strongly consider ending the War on Drugs. Not only would this take the money and control away from the cartels and organized crime, but it would create a whole new enormous industry and employ 'millions' of americans to make the drug. Imagine if we could supply vulnerable addicts with 100% pure substances of what they desire. It would be cheaper than on the street, reducing burglaries and robberies and reduce deaths from overdoses or consuming unknown chemicals. Let addicts buy their drug in a controlled safe environment. Possession of all personal use of drugs will be a small fine or rehab addiction treatment instead of jail time, freeing up our courts and law enforcement for more important issues.
