In a Department of Justice White Paper released on Monday, February 4, 2013, the President claims the right to respond to an imminent threat posed by international terrorist organizations by killing its members abroad, including, but not limited to, American citizens.
Mr. President, we the undersigned believe that this directive flies in the face of centuries of legal precedent, and both the letter and spirit of the Constitution that guarantees all Americans habeas corpus and due process. Recognizing the fact that the Judiciary has been unable to oversee the Executive on matters of national security, we the people petition you directly to end this practice and restore our more perfect union.
