Now that we have moved the clocks forward the process of setting them back in the fall should be done away with. The practice of "daylight saving time" no longer serves any real purpose other than putting the entire country in a defunkt mood for anywhere from a few days to a week while the people readjust to the change. Hawaii and Arizona—with the exception of the state’s Navajo Nation—do not observe daylight saving time, and the U.S. territories of American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and the Northern Mariana Islands also remain on standard time year-round. So it is well past time to follow these states lead and do away with this practice.
