End the practice of Extraordinary Rendition, in which people suspected of supporting terrorist organizations are apprehended, transferred to, and incarcerated and interrogated in countries outside the U.S., without indictment or judicial review.
What makes our country fairly unique among nations is our aspiration - expressed in our Constitution and Bill of Rights - to be, as our second President John Adams put it, "a nation of laws, not of men" - to adhere to the highest standards of human rights and legal practice, never stooping to the standards of our foes.
Extraordinary Rendition undermines both the letter and the spirit of our Constitution. By practicing It we brand ourselves as hypocrites in the eyes of the world, unwilling to hold to ourselves the standards we require of others.
