End the practice of mountaintop removal in the US. It is completely unnecessary to blow up mountains for energy.

Mountaintop removal is a method for mining coal that involves the blowing up of mountains. It is a practice that destroys clean water sources, clean air, and local tourism industries. Tourism is by far the most promising industry in the Appalachian mountains, whereas coal mining is an extremely short term endeavor that sends most of its profits to the coal company's executives. After a layer of mountain has been blown up, most of the rubble is pushed into an adjacent valley. This rubble contains dangerous chemicals that get into the local water supply. Dust from the explosions pollute the air and can cause serious damage to people's health. Mountaintop removal is a violation of both the Clean Air Act and the Clean Water Act. Please issue a presidential order that bans mountaintop removal.
