We the People petition the Obama administration to stop the use of the term "African-American" to describe people of color in The United States of America. The term does not correctly reflect the very person it was designed to identify.
Blacks rarely use the term to describe themselves.
NAACP is still just that, it's not the NAAAA. UNCF is not the UAACF. There are countless others including: AABE, ABPSI, NABA, NABJ, NBCC, NBMBAA, NBNA, NCBW, NSBE. The "B" stands for "black" in all of these "blacks-only" organizations.
The term is wrongly used to identify blacks from other countries as well. A black person from England, is just that. There is nothing derogatory with the term "black", nor is there with the term "white" to refer to Caucasians.
Let's end this silly practice now!
