An amended version, mandating ultrasounds while specifying that women can refuse the trans-vaginal kind, passed the House and won a 21-19 vote in the Senate on Tuesday.
The insulting logic behind the bill—and behind similar laws in seven other states—is that women decide to terminate pregnancies without truly understanding what they’re doing. The assumption is that women make the decision lightly.
