The Ferguson Police department has been tasked with generating revenue for the municipality by preying upon the most vulnerable members of the society, creating a modern day Sheriff of Nottingham scenario, where enough warrants have been issued to jail 75% of the population on ridiculously petty charges.
The warrants are issued after a person fails (cannot) pay a fine, thus establishing a debtor's prison. Worse yet, the cost of their trail, their court appointed lawyer, probation and incarceration are then charged to the incarcerated.
PLEASE pardon all such victims of the regime.
PLEASE push federal legislation to prohibit the municipality from fleecing the poor and disenfranchised. Ferguson is not the only place in this country where this happens, and is becoming more widespread.
