END PRISON LABOR and get those jobs back into the open labor market.

IT IS TIME TO END EXPLOITATION OF PRISON LABOR THAT WE, THE TAX PAYERS, ARE SUPPORTING WITH OUR MONEY.
Too many jobs are being performed by prisoners with profits going to the corporations that own the prisons. These were jobs that once supported families. It is time to return these jobs to the public. We must turn prisons back to prisons, not labor camps or work houses. We must ask "Is our prison population growing because of crime or need for workers?" And "Are laws being written to increase this labor force?" Banning prison labor would give work back to those in need of work and possibly lesson the need to commit crimes. This not only affects the unemployed but also the small businesses.
