As we are all aware, the tension between police and civilian interactions are at an all-time high. Much of the population would like to directly blame police and other LEO, however, at the end of the day they are also just doing their job trying to make ends meet. The problem is that their job is directly governed by the private prison industry.
For-profit detention centers open a very large window for abuse. The only way they profit is if other humans are placed behind their bars, many of which are non-violent US citizens. Then all the wealthy prison owners have to do is lobby in favor of police procedure which tends to make it so that the polices job is to harrass citizens even if they have very little to no probable cause.
