Wikipedia recently shut down their website in an effort to inform the public about what the SOPA and PIPA bills have the capacity to do. They reported over 150,000,000 people having logged on to Wikipedia and reported that they couldn't imagine a world without free knowledge. Now, if the population of the U.S. is only 300,000,000 and at least half of Americans would not support SOPA or PIPA or anything like them, then why are these bills in our legislature? Why are we even hearing about bills that (it seems) only politicians are supporting?
