End the prohibition of cannabis and legalize recreational use.

Created by C.N. on September 02, 2015

Roughly every 45 seconds potential for individual success is snuffed out across this country and people who are or could become active and productive members of our labor force are being sent to jail for possessing cannabis. With a criminal record, it is nearly impossible to continue down any career path. If we have a weak labor force, global competitiveness is greatly hindered. Prohibition has all but halted meaningful studies on cannabis. However, the historical wide-spread use of cannabis and lack of any reported health issues due to the direct use of cannabis indicates that the plant has few negative implications to health. We ask that you work to end a war that has negatively impacted infinitely more lives than the target of the war itself, cannabis. Thank you for your time.
