Arkansas, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas. All of these states are guilty in their state constitutions of violating the First Amendment of the United States of America.
These states will allow anyone who believes in any "supreme being" to hold a public office, but if you are a non-believer, then you are not allowed to hold any public office in that state. The First Amendment to the United States Constitution clearly states the following: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..." if the Federal Government of the USA cannot make a law that would limit someone's chance to hold public office, then neither should the States that compose that country.
