Inclusion of Cannabis and the chemical compound THC in the Schedule I classification makes a mockery of the Controlled Substance Act. There is no scientific data to support the classification and the restrictions founded on said classification. Harry Anslinger began the war on Cannabis and his motives were not righteous. He was a racist and his policies were not motivated by public safety or the greater good. Both Alcohol and Nicotine are more harmful yet they are readily available in spite of the bounty of scientific evidence demonstrating the negative impacts of both. We must stop this absurd campaign against a plant that neither kills nor significantly harms those who regularly use the plant. Stop the Real Reefer Madness, end Harry Anslinger's ridiculous and poorly thought out war.
