End reducing military service-connected disability retirement pay by amount of eligible VA disability compensation.

Created by N.K. on June 29, 2014

I wish to petition the White House to end government's practice of deducting VA disability compensation from military service-connected disability retirement pay. The government has an obligation not to require service members to fund their own VA compensation from their military service-connected disability retirement pay. VA compensation continues to be deducted from military retirement pay of individuals medically retired with less than 20 years service due to a service-connected disability. Service members continue to be forced to forfeit an amount of their military retired pay equal to their VA compensation. Medically retired service members are funding their monthly VA service-connected disability compensation due them under Federal law through their monthly retirement pay.
