Despite numerous campaign promises about returning transparency to government, this administration has taken drastic steps to make much of the government's inner-workings more opaque, notably the current trade negotiations that appear to be the centerpiece of the administrations foray into Asian trade relations, the Trans-Pacific Partnership, which, aside from numerous wikileaks, has been completely and totally obfuscated from view of the voting public. The actions taken by the U.S. Trade Representative to ensure the secrecy of this agreement, as well as their efforts to make it bypass congressional approval, are completely unacceptable. Before anything is agreed to, the American people should know what is being agreed upon.
