End the segregationist and apartheid territorial status of Puerto Rico! 3.7 millions American citizens deserve equality

Created by F.L. on July 10, 2012

Puerto Ricans living in the territory of Puerto Rico have been American citizens since 1917. They have served with honor defending democratic ideals in battlefields through out the World. Thousands gave their ultimate sacrifice defending democracy & the American way of life denied by the current territorial status.

The Present status denies the right to vote for the President of the United States; the right to elect Congresspersons and Senators and the obligations inherent to political equality despite the fact that we pay Federal taxes and are subjected to laws approve by U.S. Congress. This segregationist and apartheid policy should end by a Federally mandated political status referendum sponsored by Congress and by the first elected African American President. The time is now!
