Selective Service was once abolished in the 1970's, only to be reinstated a decade later to keep America battle ready to efficiently activate the draft once more.
Technology has now evolved to the point where databases can now incorporate a 'Selective Service' tab within the information the government has on all U.S. citizens. Using this logic, there is no need to continue this old tradition when it can be simplified down to its' own column.
