All male U.S. citizens and some male non-citizens between the ages of 18 to 25 are required to register with selective service. This also includes disabled men and trans women.
This is a violation of their independent freedom and their right to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. During a draft, their only options would be to fight and possibly die in a war that they may not view as just and necessary or be imprisoned.
Failing to register can have them charged with a felony, refused employment with the federal government, denied financial aid for college, and denied U.S. citizenship.
The volunteer army is working well. The military is no longer in need of poorly trained men fighting in large-scale wars, but can instead rely on highly trained Special Forces. Please end the draft.
