end the sexualization, exploitation, and abuse of children on reality television.

Created by K.M. on January 14, 2013

Recently, we have seen the increasing popularity and variety of reality television. We have passed the point where nothing is sacred. This applies to all participants, even the children. Kids are being sexualized, exploited, and abused and this is viewed as entertainment. Do we not know that it is wrong to force a toddler to wax her eyebrows? Are we really naïve enough to think that there aren’t pedophiles relishing in the footage of little girls dressed like prostitutes? Do we enjoy watching the downward spiral of teenage parents? And, if we do feel this way, what message does that send to all the other children in this country? We are teaching them, “We value you more as a spectacle, than as a functioning member of society.”
