End the siege against the civilians in Gaza

Created by M.A. on July 30, 2014

The civilians in Gaza have collectively suffered as a result of Israel's and Egypt's blockade of the Gaza Strip. The only power plant in Gaza has been bombed and injured Palestinian infants, women, and children are dying because hospitals do not have sufficient electricity. Israel and Egypt receive the largest amounts of US foreign aid (over $3 billion per year to Israel alone). The US can force a peaceful resolution to the conflict by exerting financial pressure on Egypt and Israel to lift their blockade. Hamas in June 2014 agreed to recognize Israel by accepting a unity government governed by US-friendly Fatah. In response, Israel suspended peace talks with Fatah. Over 1,000 innocent Palestinians have been killed since that time. Peace is possible if the US takes a firm stance on all.
