Each year, tests get tougher and stricter. There are teachers who do teach students what they need to know to pass the test, but their students are still unprepared. Students are individuals just as adults and can easily slip up on a test, just as many adults have done because of numerous reasons. They suffer from stress, lack of sleep, how they are feeling, whether they ate, and many other reasons. High scores show that the school is effective in teaching students, while low test scores make teachers and schools look as though they are not teaching the students properly. That pressure to succeed creates a poor environment for learning—an environment of fear, rather than discovery. All teachers do is teach students to take a test. You should teach a child to learn.
