When "student loans" goes into default and the IRS applies your entire Federal Income Tax Refund to the repayment of your Student Loan, there should be a set percentage of the refund going towards the principal of the loan. I feel like I'm being punished for getting a higher education. So far the IRS has taken over $25,000 of my Tax Refund for a $7,500 original student loan. The greedy "collection agencies" say I still owe $12,000 more. When does the profiting of lower income college students end. I received an Art degree and haven't receive any real income until later in life. I now pay my taxes and feel like the "collection agencies" that the government sold my loan to is taken advantage of my circumstance. We need fair student loan default policies not status quo predatory practice!
