Super PACs can raise unlimited funds from any single source which allows corporations and the ultra wealthy to directly translate economic success into political power. US PIRG and Demos recent report Auctioning Democracy found that 96% of all super PAC funds came in contributions of 10,000 or more from just 1,096 sources. Super PACs also can take money from sources, which do not reveal their original donors, like nonprofit corporations. It is fundamentally antidemocratic for one actor to have more influence in the political process than another because of the size of a bank account. Lets end the influence of money in politics, set limits on election spending, lessen the likelihood our politicians are beholden to corporations and make all our money equal.
