end the system of closed adoptions in the United States.

Adoption affects many people, but none so much as the adoptee. Decisions are made as to the adoptee's identity, over which they have no control or say, because many are just born/infants at the time of the adoption. Lawyers, judges, first parents, adoptive parents and many times adoption agencies-businesses work to perpetuate a system which restricts access to personal information to the adoptee, in the name of "privacy" for the birth mother. It is our position that the various and sundry laws on states levels sealing birth records past the year of majority(18) violates the due process clause of the 14th amendment, that upon the adoptee reaching the age of majority, the records should be unsealed. Please, issue an executive order for this, or work for a constitutional amendment for it.
