MegaUpload.com, the super-popular filesharing site, has been taken down by the Federal Government. This Petition is to reverse the takedown of the site, as the government has no legal right to do so, and will only have the right to do so if SOPA and/or PIPA pass. The illegal and copyrighted material on this site is uploaded by the users, which the site owners have no control over until the files are already on the servers. However, the illegal content is far outweighed by the content that is legal and depended on by small businesses and regular people around the world- not just the USA.
