End the tax exempt status of the NFL - National Football League

Created by B.M. on September 21, 2014

The National Football League - NFL - pretends that is a civic-improvement organization to get a tax exemption, however their recent actions and reactions show civic improvement is not their highest priority. Making money and "Defending the Shield" is. Even though the NFL generates nearly $10 billion a year in revenue, and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell pays himself $44 million a year, the NFL pays no federal taxes and we continue to provide tax subsidies to this super-profitable sports league.

Even while approximately 70 percent of stadium costs have been subsidized by taxpayers and nearly 100 percent of stadium revenue goes to NFL team owners, we continue to provide tax subsidies to this super-profitable sports league.

It is time to put end to the NFL's tax exempt status.
