Giving an organization tax exempt status is a government subsidy to that organization. Many organizations deserve this subsidy because they serve the public. However, some organizations abuse this subsidy by preaching hatred for others. Such organizations harm the public instead of serving the public. Their tax exempt status should be removed by passing a law requiring that to qualify for tax exempt status an organization can not participate in activities intended to harm the public, including preaching hatred.
