We call on the Obama Administration to commit to ending the use of horse carriages and horses in the tourism industry in all major cities in the United States. This practice has already been banned in cities worldwide, including in London, Oxford, Paris, Toronto, Beijing, and numerous smaller cities throughout the United States. However, major cities in the United States, including Boston, New York, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, and Philadelphia, have resisted the arguments of activists and the poor condition of the animals in perpetuating this cruel industry. Despite hundreds of dangerous accidents in the last few years alone and the increasingly poor care these horses experience, political and monetary interests have prevailed. Horses have no place in the concrete jungle. Let's end this now.
