Of all persons who should be receiving Medicare it seems extremely logical that those designated as officially disabled by the Social Security Administration should be immediately covered by Medicare.
But the law written in 1972 requires a two year wait for this group to be eligible for Medicare.
Is this a "see if you die first?" or a “modern day torture" period?
If we as a humane country really want to see people covered by healthcare this group, legally and physically unable to work, usually in poverty and most of whom have worked long and hard and paid into our system, should receive Medicare coverage THE VERY DAY they are determined, by government standards, to be disabled.
To mandate a two year waiting period after they are determined is a cruel and unacceptable practice and should
